Start the New Year off right with an icy swim in the waters of the Port Moody Inlet as part of the annual Penguin Plunge at Rocky Point Park on January 1.
Hundreds of people will brave the frigid temperatures and friends and family members of the participants are invited to come down and cheer from shore.
Hot chocolate and refreshments will warm up the swimmers and the event, which is hosted annually by the Pleasantside Community Association, will also feature entertainment.
Registration starts at noon on January 1 and the plunge begins 1 p.m. at that boat launch at Rocky Point Park. All proceeds go to the Pleasantside Community Association.
