Trail has run cold in search for missing man

Coquitlam RCMP are asking the public to once again help them locate a 23-year-old man who went missing nearly a year and a half ago.

Coquitlam RCMP are asking the public to once again help them locate a 23-year-old man who went missing nearly a year and a half ago.

Shaun Chris MacDonald-McLaughlin of Coquitlam was last seen on the afternoon of March 12, 2010, at a friend's home in Vancouver. He was reported missing to Coquitlam Mounties two weeks later, on March 27, but the trail has since run cold.

"There is no new information," Coquitlam RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jamie Chung. "We just want to get the word out again to anyone who might know of him."

MacDonald-McLaughlin is described as 5'11" tall, weighing approximately 140 lbs. with brown eyes; when last seen, he had long brown hair and a full beard.

According to the RCMP, MacDonald-McLaughlin had been diagnosed with mental health problems and may have stopped taking his medications before disappearing.

He has friends in the Coquitlam and Vancouver areas.
