Canadian merchants pay some of the highest credit card processing fees in the world. Theaverage rate in Canada exceeds 2%, compared to countries like Australia where the averagerate is about 1% and 0.79% in the UK.
Local MP Fin Donnelly (New Westminster - Coquitlam and Port Moody) is teaming up with the Tri-Cities and New Westminster Chambers of Commerce, the Retail Council of Canada and Shelfspace to host a special forum for local businesses on credit card processing fees.
It's being held this Monday, April 16 at the Executive Plaza Hotel, 405 North Road, Coquitlam.
