Heavy rain and gusty winds are forecast to hit the Tri-Cities this weekend — just in time for a Thanksgiving.

Starting Friday, a “classic fall pattern” of wet weather is set to blow into the region, dumping up to 100 millimetres of rain on Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody, according to the Weather Network.

And while that’s expected to taper off to 20 millimetres of accumulated rainfall on Saturday, winds gusting up to 27 kilometres per hour will accompany a series of low pressure systems.

Daytime temperatures are predicted to hover between 13 and 15 C over the weekend, and dipping down to as low as 8 C overnight.

Rain will pick up again Thanksgiving Monday, dropping up to another 75 millimetres of precipitation.
