Tri-Cities forecast calls for more snow, strong winds overnight

Environment Canada predicts another 5-10 cm of snow, transitioning to rain as we head into the weekend
SNOW

An offshore low pressure system approaching the Lower Mainland has prompted Environment Canada to extend another snowfall warning to the Tri-City area.

Strong southeasterly winds will accompany a transition from snow to rain in some low-lying areas, though another five centimetres of snow is still possible.

A cold air mass that remains settled over Coquitlam and the North Shore could lead to further 10 centimetres of snow overnight, easing to a mix of scattered showers, flurries and perhaps freezing rain Thursday and Friday.

The temperature is expected to continue to warm into the weekend, with a 90% chance of rain.
