Holidays for little ones

Families with young children ages two to five can stop by Mackin House in Coquitlam (1116 Brunette Ave.) to decorate cookies, make a craft and listen to a holiday story from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Refreshments will be provided. The cost is $8 per child.

Watercolours of Canada

Stop by the Michael Wright Art Gallery at Leigh Square, next to Port Coquitlam City Hall, to see Stories in Light, a juried exhibit by the International Watercolour Society of Canada that recently held its summit in Port Coquitlam. Also, check out the display next door in The Outlet gallery titled Neither Here Nor There, but Everywhere. Neither Then Nor Now, but Forever by Natasha Boskic, Linda Haftner, Pierre Leichner, Alex Lavrov, Johnny Tai, Hoda Mir and Barbara Tevarotto. As well, Angela Tahara has her exhibit called Wax Fusion in the city hall gallery (2580 Shaughnessy St.).

Holiday ha ha

It’s every elf for themselves in The Comedy Department’s Holiday Comedy Rumble, a show on at 7:30 p.m. with Coquitlam native Michael Teigen at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way). The company was formed by Denise Jones and David Milchard, two well-known Vancouver performers. Tickets are $37/$34/$16.
