Here's what's on around the Tri-Cities on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024:
Remembrance Day
Public services will be held in the Tri-Cities to pay tribute to those who served and sacrificed their lives in wars and peacekeeping missions.
- In Coquitlam, the Royal Canadian Legion branch 263 hosts an indoor event at 10:15 a.m. at Como Lake Middle School (1121 King Albert Ave.) before parading to Veterans Way at the Blue Mountain Park cenotaph for the service, starting at around 10:30 p.m. at 975 King Albert St.
- In Port Coquitlam, the Remembrance Day events are led by the Royal Canadian Legion branch 113, which begins its parade from the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.) to city hall on Shaughnessy Street for the speeches, prayers and wreath laying at 10:30 a.m.
- And in Port Moody, the Royal Canadian Legion branch 119 will join cadets, Scouts, Girl Guides and first responders for a service at the cenotaph at the legion site (2529 Clarke St.) at 10:30 a.m.
