Bye Weeds

Help remove the invasive English Ivy around Thurston Terrace in Port Moody. Park along Noons Creek Drive (at Cunningham Lane) before the 9 a.m. meet-up. Wear closed-toe shoes or booths for the physical work, which takes place rain or shine. Gloves, eye protection and tools will be provided by the city, but bring a water bottle. Students ages 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There is also an afternoon pull from noon to 2 p.m.

Winter Market

Grab your grocery bags and tour the Winter Farmers Market, on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot next to the Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Rd.).

Family Day at PdA

Winter is the theme for the Family Day at PdA at Place des Arts in Coquitlam (1120 Brunette Ave.). The art-filled afternoon starts at 1 p.m. and includes activities led by faculty. Registration is encouraged.

Classical music

Power Classic Sundays returns to the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way) with a 3 p.m. performance titled “Bizarre Love Triangle.” The program by the Vancouver Chamber Music Society includes Johannes Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet; Clara Schumann’s Piano Trio; and Robert Schumann Piano Quintet. Tickets are $37/$34/$16.

Panthers Home Game

Cheer on the Port Moody Panthers as they battle the North Vancouver Wolf Pack on home ice. The 7:45 p.m. game is at the Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Rd.).
