KINDERGARTEN, 'LATE' DEADLINE

If you're a parent with a little one heading into kindergarten in September 2024, today is the deadline to register for a program of choice: French Immersion, Mandarin, Montessori and Reggio Emilia. As well, today at 4 p.m. is the registration cut-off for "Late" French Immersion and Montessori programs.

SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL

Stage 43 Theatrical Society presents an updated adaptation of the 18th century comedy The School for Scandal with a modern version by William Harwell Wilson. The shows run at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way) from Jan. 11 to 20 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $63/$57.

ART’S BIRTHDAY

You can paint blindfolded while listening to music, take part in a community dance and sample cakes at Site B Brewery in Port Moody (3012 Murray St.) to celebrate the birthday of "ART." The event hosted by PoMoArts marks the day that Fluxus artist Robert Filliou declared Jan. 17 as the day “ART” was born. The all-ages bash runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and features ARTCakes from Tri-City bakeries Cassandra Cake Co., Doceria Da Maria Cake Factory and Pely’s Gluten Free Bakery. There will also be music fro DJ 24 and dancing.

KARAOKE NIGHT

Sing some familiar tunes with friends at the Royal Canadian Legion branch 263 in Coquitlam (1025 Ridgeway Ave.). The karaoke mic is open from 7 to 10 p.m.
