Here's what's on in the Tri-Cities for Friday, Jan. 19, 2024: 


NEW ART

Four new exhibitions open at Coquitlam’s Place des Arts (1120 Brunette Ave.) with a reception featuring the artists: Emerging Talent 26 (SD43 Grade 12 art students); Fragile Stories: Encaustic Portraits (Rick Herdman); All the Parts of Me (Amy Dyck); and Diaspora (Azadeh Mehryar). The displays will be up until March 14 and online starting Jan. 26.

HOCKEY NIGHT

See the Port Coquitlam Trailblazers face off against the Richmond Sockeyes on home ice for a 7 p.m. hockey game at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.).

LEGION NIGHT

Enjoy the tunes and jump on the dance floor at the Royal Canadian Legion branch 263 in Coquitlam (1025 Ridgeway Ave.) for a fun night with the Brian Zalo Mix. The band hits the stage at 7 p.m.

SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL

Stage 43 Theatrical Society presents an updated adaptation of the 18th century comedy The School for Scandal with a modern version by William Harwell Wilson. The shows run at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way) from Jan. 11 to 20 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $63/$57.
