Here's what's on in the Tri-Cities for Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024:


TREE CHIP

Take your live Christmas tree — without tinsel or decorations — to the Port Coquitlam Firehall 1 (1725 Broadway St.) to be chipped. The event is by donation and runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Also, the Port Moody firefighters will have their drive-thru Christmas Tree chip from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Inlet Centre firehall (150 Newport Dr.). The cost is a minimum $5 donation; tree pick-up is available by emailing [email protected]. And, in Coquitlam, organizations will be chipping trees to raise funds at the following locations: Mundy Park (641 Hillcrest St.); and Town Centre Park (Lot A, 1299 Pinetree Way).

GRAND OPENING

Check out the new community hub in Anmore. The village north of Port Moody will open its new facility at 2697 Sunnyside Rd., Anmore, with a public reception from 4 to 7 p.m. The ribbon will be cut at 4 p.m. Parking is available at Anmore Elementary School. Refreshments will be served.
