Handbells

Enjoy a concert with handbells while sipping on tea at a Resilience Ringers concert featuring flautist Allen Wu. The show at 2 p.m. is at the Como Lake United Church (535 Marmont St., Coquitlam). Tickets are $25/$20/$10.

Homecoming

Urban Ink Theatre presents the world premiere of Homecoming at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way). Penned by Kamila Sediego and directed by Hazel Venzon, the shows at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. centres on three generations of Filipina women in the Philippines and Canada. Tickets are $45/$38/$16.

Colour Fest

Get doused in bright hues for spring at the annual Colour Fest hosted by Diwali Fest at Town Centre Park (1299 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam). Colour Fest is a celebration of Holi and Vaisakhi and includes dancing, food and family-fun activities from 5 to 8 p.m.

Legion music

Dance to the tunes at the Royal Canadian Legion branch 263 in Coquitlam (1025 Ridgeway Ave.) where Black Eyed Susan takes the stage from 7 to 11 p.m. Food service is available.

Salsa time

Learn the basic Salsa, bachata and merengue moves with Salsa Dance Zone instructors Alberto Gonzalez and Teresa Szefler during a beginners’ lesson at 8 p.m. at St. Clare’s Hall (2888 Delahaye Dr., Coquitlam) then dance the night away to the Latin beats until midnight. Admission is $15. The event is for adults only.
