Indigenous Land

Hear from Leigh Joseph, an ethnobotanist, researcher and community activist, in a Zoom presentation by the Coquitlam Public Library. Joseph will be discussing the role of plants in her own cultural reconnection and how she shares her love of plants and the land with wider audiences through her film, book and company. She will also speak to the significance of native plants and their role in Indigenous culture both past and future.

Quilling in PoCo

Teens and adults are invited to a quilling workshop at Terry Fox Library in Port Coquitlam (2150 Wilson Ave.) from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Beginners to the rolled paper art can learn to make basic shapes and a simple card to take home.

RCMP Outreach

City Centre residents in Coquitlam and others who have been affected by the murder of RCMP Const. Rick O'Brien can talk to Mounties and victim services personnel at a Neighbourhood Outreach. The drop-in event from 5 to 8 p.m. is being held at the Glen Pine Pavilion (1200 Glen Pine Crt., Coquitlam). O'Brien was killed in the line of duty on Sept. 22, 2023, in a residential building on Glen Drive in Coquitlam.
