Tri-Cities weather: A chance of pre-Christmas snow flurries

Environment Canada and the Weather Network release their Christmas forecasts

As we move deeper into the holiday season, many begin to consider if this will be one of those years when our rainy corner of Canada gets a white Christmas.

Don’t get your hopes up, according to forecasts from both Environment Canada and the Weather Network, which call for a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 3 C on Dec. 25.

But there’s still a chance Tri-City residents will get a glimpse of some of the white stuff beforehand. After a mixed-bag of cloud, showers and sun over the weekend and into Monday, the weather services predict a chance of flurries from the evening of Dec. 23 into the early morning hours of Christmas Eve. That’s when temperatures have the best chance of dipping below zero and transforming a 70% chance of rain into snow.
