Local council members will represent the Tri-Cities at Metro Vancouver after board chair Sav Dhaliwal announced the standing committee structure and appointments for 2020 on Monday.
Coquitlam Mayor Richard Stewart will chair the region's liquid waste committee while Coquitlam Coun. Craig Hodge has been named vice-chair of the zero waste committee.
Anmore Mayor John McEwen will chair the regional parks committee and Port Coquitlam Mayor Brad West will be the vice-chair of the industrial lands strategy task force.
Port Moody will not have a representative in a chair or vice-chair role at Metro Vancouver, although Mayor Rob Vagramov will sit on the mayors committee along with Stewart, West, McEwen and Belcarra Mayor Neil Belenkie. Vagramov has also been chosen for the regional planning committee and the zero waste committee.
Fellow Port Moody Coun. Hunter Madsen will sit on the regional culture committee and Coun. Diana Dilworth has been appointed to the regional parks committee.

• Electoral Area committee: Belenkie and Coquitlam Coun. Trish Mandewo;
• finance and intergovernmental committee: Stewart and McEwen;
• housing committee: PoCo Coun. Glen Pollock and Coquitlam Coun. Chris Wilson;
• Indigenous relations committee: Coquitlam Coun. Bonita Zarrillo;
• industrial lands strategy task force: Coquitlam Coun. Teri Towner;
• performance audit committee: West and Coquitlam Coun. Dennis Marsden;
• water committee: Belenkie and Coquitlam Coun. Brent Asmundson.
