If you have a yen for Japanese Tonkatsu — or pork cutlet — you might consider trying out Saku.

It's the newest restaurant to open in a tower development at 107-567 Clarke Rd., Coquitlam, near the intersection at Como Lake Avenue.

According to Instagram, Saku opened its doors for a soft opening last Friday (May 12) and is expecting to hold a grand opening this Friday (May 19).

Located just steps away from the Burquitlam SkyTrain station, Saku is adjacent to another popular food destination: Bjorn Bar Bakery.

Together, the two eateries are expected to draw from residents in the growing neighbourhood.

What you'll find on the menu will include deep fried breaded pork loin, deep fried breaded aged mozzarella wrapped with thinly sliced pork and signature curry.

This will be the third restaurant for Saku, which has two restaurants in Vancouver: Saku Robson (1588 Robson St.) and Saku Broadway (548 W Broadway).
