In a matter of minutes, Coquitlam RCMP Cpl. Jamie Chung and Const. Michelle Luca will hop on twitter and provide live updates all afternoon of the calls they attend and their general policing duties.
Then, later this afternoon, Sgt. Bradley Sheridan of the Port Moody Police will take over the reins of the "tweet-along" until midnight.
The two Tri-Cities' police forces have teamed up for the twitter session to help recognize National Police Week and strengthen ties within the communities they serve.
"The goal of the tweet-along is no different than what we are already doing on the street: it's to connect with our communities," said Chung in a press release. "The only difference is we are now also connecting with the people we serve in the digital world."
The public is being encouraged to ask the officers any questions about policing. The hashtag for the tweet-along is #pmcqtwt.
