A Coquitlam man and a woman from Surrey are facing numerous charges in connection with a series of robberies here and in Maple Ridge over the past month.
Between Feb. 27 and March 9 there were nine robberies reported to police, in which the suspect would enter a business and allegedly brandish a knife to obtain money, cigarettes and lottery tickets.
The Coquitlam RCMP Robbery Section and Maple Ridge RCMP Street Enforcement Unit teamed up to identify and arrest a 33-year-old Coquitlam man and a 30-year-old woman.
Christopher Houghton faces nine counts of robbery and remains in custody, while Claira Dusange of Surrey faces two counts of robbery.
Their next court appearance is March 24.
