Two men are facing charges in connection with a run of thefts-from-vehicles last month.

Coquitlam RCMP had been investigating a number of thefts over the past several weeks and suspected it was the work of prolific offenders. On the morning of Nov. 19 Prolific Target Team (PTT) investigators spotted the two suspects in an alleged stolen vehicle, as well as "sneaking around in the dark in a north side Port Coquitlam neighoburhood, allegedly casing and taking property from vehicles in the area," according to a release.

"We know who they are and exactly what they're up to," said Cpl. Scott Grimmer, PTT team leader. "We also have indications to suggest the pair was allegedly linked to even more property crimes in the area."

The two were arrested and are facing several charges.

Robert Pickford, 32, has been charged with two counts each of break-and-enter and theft, four counts of possession of stolen property and possession of a break-in instrument.

Ryan Chaffey, 35, is charged with two counts of theft and one count each of possession of stolen property, a break-in instrument and a controlled substance.

They have been held in custody until their next court appearance on Dec. 4.
