UPDATE: Police mum after two bodies found in Coquitlam home

Homicide detectives are investigating a Westwood Plateau home after two bodies were found Thursday afternoon.

Police and a forensics team were still at the scene Saturday morning of a Coquitlam home where two bodies were found.

On Thursday at around 2 p.m., Cooquitlam RCMP was called to the pink-brown house on Westwood Plateau — in the 1600-block of Alpine Lane, between Blackbear Court and Bobcat Place — to investigate the deaths.

Mounties had originally said only one body was discovered; however, they issued a press release on Friday morning to say two bodies had been located.

"We are in the very early stages of this investigation. Our focus right now is to identify the two people found in the home," IHIT Sgt. Stephanie Ashton said in the release.

She also asked that anyone with information to call the IHIT tipline at 1-877-551-IHIT to determine what happened.
