Video: Tri-Cities SkyTrain stations reimagined for the Marvel universe

TransLink assembles a new map with references to the popular movies and comics, including its stops in Coquitlam and Port Moody.

As it turns out, the Tri-Cities hosts Man-Thing, the Quantum Realm and the planet that possesses the power stone.

All are part of the Marvel comics, entertainment and cinematic universe (MCU) as TransLink recently partnered a Metro Vancouver exhibit to create a new dimension of SkyTrain stations.

In this saga, Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. in Burnaby helped unveil a multi-verse of names for local transit stops, including those in Coquitlam and Port Moody, in keeping up with the pop-culture phenomenon.

The stations have been renamed after locations, landmarks or people from the MCU, and are featured on a unique map with a cool-looking SkyTrain logo.

Tri-City News digital reporter Kyle Balzer — a self-proclaimed Marvel film expert — travelled along the bifrost to talk about the new names for the six Tri-Cities stations between Lafarge Lake-Douglas and Burquitlam.
