A Coquitlam church will host a candlelight vigil on Saturday to remember those lost at sea in a Korean ferry tragedy.

Members of the Korean-Canadian community are hosting the service at Our Lady of Fatima Church hall (315 Walker St.) from 6:30 to 10 p.m.

The Rose of Sharon Foundation will have a donation box at the event to collect cash to help the victims' families. Fundraising drives will also be set up May 2 and 3 outside the HanNam and H-Mart supermarkets on North Road.

The ferry sank last week as it sailed from Incheon to Jeju Island. More than 160 people have been confirmed dead and search teams continue to work to recover bodies. There were 476 people on board and 174 passengers were rescued.
