The city is calling for volunteers to help prepare for the annual winter light displays.

The holidays are fast approaching. Soon, you'll see pretty lights adorning the neighbourhoods and spirits running high.

As Coquitlam's streets and parks are ready to transform into a winter wonderland, the city is calling for volunteers to be part of the Park Spark Light Brigade and make the magic happen.

Community members, schools, organizations and businesses are encouraged to help transform local parks for a pair of annual winter light displays — Lights at Lafarge and Mackin Park — starting November.

The season will kick off on Friday, Nov. 24 and the lights will shine until February 2024.

Volunteers can get outdoors and show community spirit in different ways, including fabricating lit elements, installing special displays, taking part in light-making workshops or hosting a night throughout the season.

The workshops will take place throughout October and November and the light installations will take place until Nov. 24.

Anyone interested in getting involved and volunteering can email [email protected] or visit the city's website.
