VPD seek black SUV connected to Port Moody shooting

Police are looking for more witnesses to the brazen shooting in the parking lot of the Port Moody recreation centre last month that left a Surrey man dead.

Police are looking for more witnesses to the brazen shooting in the parking lot of the Port Moody recreation centre last month that left a Surrey man dead.

Gurbinder Singh "Bin" Toor was gunned down as he was getting out of his vehicle to play a ball hockey game at the PoMo rec centre the evening of May 30. He later died in hospital.

Toor, who reportedly had ties to the Dhak/Duhre gang, was known to the police.

The Vancouver Police Department homicide unit, which is investigating the shooting, has posted a notice at city hall asking for information on a vehicle of interest - a late-model black Nissan Murano.

"Members from the Vancouver Police homicide unit went back to the scene canvassing for more witnesses," said VPD spokesperson Const. Brian Montague. There is no licence plate information for the Nissan, which Montague said is a vehicle of interest, not necessarily the suspect vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call the VPD at 604-717-2500 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
