A 43-year-old man wanted on a Coquitlam warrant was part of a series of back-to-back arrests made earlier this week in Maple Ridge.
The wave of arrests began at 8 p.m. Tuesday when Ridge Meadows RCMP picked up a 44-year-old Maple Ridge man on an outstanding warrant.
At 10:20 p.m., police made a second arrest, this time near Dewdney Trunk Road and Fraser Street in Maple Ridge when they saw a man running down the street. He was found to have two outstanding warrants, one in Maple Ridge and another with Transit police.
At around midnight, local RCMP picked up a third man while patrolling the 22200-block of Lougheed Highway. This was the 43-year-old from Maple Ridge wanted by Coquitlam RCMP.
Finally, at about 1:30 a.m., police spotted another man not wearing a helmet; when RCMP officers stopped him, the 35-year-old Langley resident allegedly gave them a false name but they soon realized he had an outstanding warrants out for his arrest both locally and in North Vancouver.
"You just never know what a shift is going to bring," said Maple Ridge RCMP Constable Julie Klaussner in a press release. "What may seem like a regular day at the office has resulted in these four arrests and it’s important for the public to know what occurs throughout the night and into the wee hours of the morning."
Each of the suspects was held overnight before making an appearance at Port Coquitlam Provincial court Dec. 18.
