Commuters in Coquitlam may have seen some colourful signs pop up at intersections this week.
City crews have installed vertical "Welcome" signs at 11 locations around the city: Clarke/Ailsa; North Road (by the New Westminster border); Brunette/Bernatchey; Barnet Highway (at the Port Moody and Port Coquitlam borders); Guildford Way (at PoMo); David Avenue (at PoMo); Westwood/Heffley; Shaughnessy/Lincoln; Coast Meridian/Victoria; and Como Lake/North.
The 10-foot-tall aluminum boards with reflective vinyl sheeting were designed in-house and cost a total of $50,000 - funded by council last year as part of a $3-million surplus in the budget.
