The deadline to have your say on the proposed Fremont connector in Port Coquitlam is tomorrow (Friday) at 4:30 p.m.

And already the city has received about 200 responses on the route that, one day, will carry commuters from Burke Mountain in Coquitlam to Lougheed Highway.

This week, a city spokesperson said about 100 people have filled out the online survey (via portcoquitlam.ca) and another 80 people entered comment sheets at last month's open house at the Hyde Creek recreation centre; 20 more forms have come in via email since the open house.

"We thank everyone who has given the city feedback on the proposed alignment options for East of Fremont and Cedar Drive route study," said Coun. Glenn Pollock, who chairs the city's smart growth committee, in a statement. "Although we have no immediate plans to build this route, we need to determine the alignment now to assist with long-term planning and to give property owners some certainty.

"We encourage anyone who has not yet had time to share their thoughts by completing the online survey by Feb. 13 as it will play an important role in our evaluation of the potential routes."

City council is expected to make a decision on the alignment next month.
