Win cash, help animals through BC SPCA's lottery and new 50–50 draw

Tickets for the lottery, which ends on May 13, are $30 for one ticket, $60 for three tickets and $90 for six tickets.

You can help animals in need — and win money — through the BC SPCA’s lottery this spring.

And new to the annual fundraiser is a bonus 50–50 draw, worth up to $750,000, or half for the winner.

"We’re excited to be offering a bonus 50–50 pot of up to $750,000 along with 30 chances to win cash prizes in our calendar lottery,” said Tess Repenning, BC SPCA senior manager of digital giving, in a news release.

“We expect our most popular ticket packages and 50–50 tickets to sell out quickly again this year.”

Last year’s lottery brought in $1.9 million for the non-profit to care for vulnerable animals across the province, assisting with rescue, shelter and medical attention.

Tickets for the lottery, which ends on May 13, are:

  • $30 for one ticket
  • $60 for three tickets
  • $90 for six tickets

As for the new 50–50 draw, the tickets — which must be bought in conjunction with a lottery ticket — are:

  • $10 for one ticket
  • $25 for three tickets
  • $40 for six tickets

The 50–50 winner will be announced on May 31; other winners will be contacted and announced on prize days designated in June.

Call 1-855-205-5998 or visit lottery.spca.bc.ca to purchase. The lottery and draw are open to B.C. residents ages 19 and older.

The BC SPCA was created under the provincial Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and is the only animal welfare organization in the province with the authority to enforce laws relating to animal cruelty and to recommend charges to Crown Counsel for the prosecution of individuals who inflict suffering on animals.
