Winners of Port Coquitlam biz awards named

Seven Port Coquitlam businesses were honoured last week by the city for their outstanding customer service and operations.

Seven Port Coquitlam businesses were honoured last week by the city for their outstanding customer service and operations.

Last Thursday, Mayor Greg Moore and council handed out trophies at the second annual PoCo Best Biz Awards gala, which was held at the PoCo Inn and Suites.

Of the 3,200 businesses in the city, 69 were nominated for an accolade. Those picked by a committee as winners were:

Port Coquitlam Bowl for the Super Service Award (other finalists were Art Knapp and Meridian Meats);

Pomme Natural Market for the Living Green Award (other finalists were Corner Sports and Custom Air Conditioner);

Lifetime Heritage Films for the Home-based Business Award (other finalists were Coracle Marketing and Nurse Next Door);

Northern Gold Foods for the PoCo Star Award (other finalists were Meridian Meats and Pomme Natural Market);

Cap's Westwood Cycle for the Giving Back Award (other finalists were Art Knapp and VanCity);

and Sushi K Kamizato and The Dog Patch (tie) for the People's Choice Award.
