Somebody who purchased a lottery ticket in Coquitlam is now a multi-millionaire.
A single winning ticket — worth $12.8 million — for the draw on Saturday, June 18 was bought in Coquitlam, marking the second big win here this month. On June 10, Dennis and Janet Howlett of Coquitlam won a $1 million Maxmillions prize in the Lotto Max draw.
The winner has one year from the draw date printed on the ticket to claim their prize.
A BC Lottery Corporation spokesperson said the specific location where the ticket was purchased, and the winner's identity, will be released after the winner has come forward and the purchase has been verified.
Another winner from the same draw purchased a ticket in Vancouver; that Extra draw is worth $500,000.
