Police are investigating an accident early Wednesday morning that took out a power pole, resulting in the lost of power to more than 4,000 BC Hydro customers - including a number of schools - in Port Coquitlam and Pitt Meadows.
Coquitlam RCMP say a black F150 Ford truck was heading south on Pitt River Road when it lost control at Citadel Drive. No one was injured and alcohol and drugs were ruled out as contributing factors in the crash.
Kilmer, Mary Hill, Castle Park and Hazel Trembath elementary schools as well as Citadel and Pitt River middle schools were without power until noon that day.
Police urge witnesses to the accident to contact investigators at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2015-2778.
