Last year, 16-year-old Jennifer Gillis was on a national stage for CBC-TV's reality competition Over the Rainbow.
This year, the Gleneagle secondary student was again before millions of television viewers after being asked by then Canadian heritage minister (and Tri-City MP) James Moore to sing "O Canada" on Parliament Hill for the country's 146th birthday.
Gillis wowed the crowd and was congratulated by Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Since then, the triple threat has been approached to record and, in March, she'll be singing at the Orpheum as a featured performer for Awkward Stage Production's Spotlight!
Gillis will end her high school year by taking the lead role of Ariel Moore for the musical Footloose.
Her next move? Broadway, baby!
