Speech, language

Toddlers stories

Little ones — ages two to five — and their caregivers can hear stories from the Coquitlam Public Library surrounded by artwork. The drop-in from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m. takes place in the Art Gallery at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way). No registration is required. The gallery fits 30 people.

Cyberbullying talk

Hear from Carol Todd, School District 43’s co-ordinator of digital literacy/citizenship and the mother of the late Amanda Todd, and trainer Colton Easton in a Zoom presentation about social media, exploitation, digital citizenship and cyberbullying. The session from 6:30 to 8 p.m. is free for families with children in grades 4 to 9.

PJ storytime

Up the Creek

Love, Cora

The band Dr. Strangelove will be heating up the dance floor at 7 p.m. at Site B in Port Moody (3012 Murray St.) to help raise funds for the Love, Cora Program. Operated by the Lumara Society and named after a six-year-old girl who died in a boating accident in 2018, the program aims to provide care packages to families after the sudden and unexpected loss of a child.

Laughing Matters

Stand-up comedians are lined up to perform at the 6th annual Comedy Night Gala to benefit the Gaby Davis Foundation. Mingle with West

Port Coquitlam Mayor Brad West is the guest of honour for the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce’s Mingle with the Mayor reception.
