Hoisting championship banners is becoming one habit the Tri-City Bandits are in no hurry to break.

The Bandits held off the Ladner Pioneers 9-8 Sunday at the Sungod Arena to win their sixth straight West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association title.

The Bandits held a 3-1 lead after one period and went up 5-1 in the second before the Pioneers woke up. Ladner pulled to 5-3 at the end of the second and jumped ahead 6-5 in the third. The Bandits then staged a late rally, with Anthio Yuen scoring the eventual winner shorthanded.

Ladner held a 2-1 series lead heading into the weekend but a 12-6 win by the Bandits Saturday night at the Port Coquitlam rec centre forced the Game 5 showdown.
