Barzal scores top minor puck player prize

Coquitlam's Mathew Barza l has been named co-winner of the 2012 Hockey Now Minor Player of the Year award. The honour, which Barzal shared with North Vancouver's Jansen Harkins, is handed out annually to a B.C.

The honour, which Barzal shared with North Vancouver's Jansen Harkins, is handed out annually to a B.C. minor player(s) who best exemplifies sportsmanship, ability and school/community participation.

A Burnaby Winter Club Bantam AAA star, Barzal was chosen first overall by the Seattle Thunderbirds at the recent 2012 Western Hockey League bantam draft in Calgary.
