Blue Devils advance to AAA final

Dr. Charles Best Blue Devils will play for the BC high school AAA soccer championship on Saturday.

The Blue Devils defeated defending champion Reynolds secondary school 3-1 in Friday’s first semi-final. 

Quinn Desaulniers scored two of Dr. Charles Best’s goals, both of them in the second half after the teams were deadlocked 1-1 at the break. Aaron Colbourne scored Best's first goal. 

The Blue Devils earned their way into the semi-final by going undefeated in pool play against Kitsilano, Mt. Baker and Sentinel.

Dr. Charles Best could end up playing a rematch against Panorarma Ridge, who beat the Blue Devils 2-0 in the Fraser Valley championship on Nov. 9. Panorama Ridge meets LA Matheson in Friday’s second semi-final.

The championship final will be played at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Burnaby Lake Sports Complex.
