BMXer Nyhaug 7th in UCI Supercross time trial in Norway

Canada's BMX racer Tory Nyhaug of Coquitlam finished seventh in the Super TIme Trial finals today (Friday) at the second UCI BMX SuperCross of 2012 in Norway,another important event for Olympic qualifications.

Nyhaug, who finished fourth in the opening time trials of 2012 in Chula Vista, Calif., posted a time of 32.647 seconds on the brand new track in scenic Randaberg.

"I wanted to podium but I'm still happy to finish seventh," Nyhaug said after. "I'm looking forward to racing tomorrow... it's going to be fun."

Nyhaug's finish qualified him for the Supercross race and was the only one of the four Canadians competing there to do so. The top 64 riders of the time trials qualify for the elimination rounds for the Supercross.

More than170 riders from 26 nations are registered for this three-day BMX-event in Norway's Randaberg Arena.
