Archbishop Carney took home the bronze medal at the AA high school provincial soccer championships this week.
The club finished the tournament with a 3-2 record, just edging Brookswood secondary on aggregate to make the podium.
The PoCo team started the tournament off with a 5-0 win over Valleyview secondary of Kamloops on Monday, but ran into trouble later in the afternoon when they fell short against Gulf Islands, losing 2-1.
On Tuesday, the team turned things around with their second win of the tournament, downing Rockridge secondary 3-0, but came up on the losing end against that day with a 2-0 loss to St. Michaels.
However, the team managed to secure its spot B.C.'s top three with a 4-1 win over Brookswood, nudging the competition out of medal contention.
Meanwhile, the Dr. Charles best secondary Blue Devils are off to a strong start at the B.C. AAA high school provincial championships in Burnaby this week.
The club bested Mount Boucherie secondary 4-0 in the tournament opener, helping the team get back to its winning ways after a bumpy finish in the Fraser Valley play downs earlier this month.
Best looked dominant against the lower-seeded West Kelowna team, jumping out to an early lead. The team piled on a few insurance markers in the second half, while shutting out their opponents on defence.
Best has had a strong back end this years.
During regular season league play, the team scored 32 goals and allowed none against their North Zone opponents.
