The Centennial Sr. Centaurs boys rugby team defeated Seaquam secondary to capture the AAA tier II Fraser Valley championship last week in Surrey.
The Centaurs began strongly, taking possession after the kickoff and moving deep into Seaquam territory to take a 10-0 lead after a penalty kick and a converted try. Centennial maintained the pressure with stellar defensive play to lead 22-5 going in to the second half.
The Delta club managed a few unconverted tries late in the second half, but Centennial answered each time with scores of their own, including a 90-meter run.
Increased pressure from Seaquam was not enough to get past the Centaurs, who won the game 39-15.
