Coquitlam Jr. Adanacs threw everything they had at the Langley Thunder in the third period on Wednesday.

It proved to be plenty.

Trailing 7-6 after two frames, the Jr. A's out-shot the Thunder 23-11 and out-scored the visitors 5-1 in the final 20 minutes to post an 11-8 triumph at Poirier Sports Complex in the opening game of their best-of-five B.C. Junior 'A' lacrosse league semifinal series.

Game 2 is set for Sunday in Langley, with Game 3 slated for next Wednesday back at Poirier, 7:30 p.m.

Robert Church rallied the Jr. A's attack with four goals and four assists. Jean-Luc Chetner supplied three markers for Coquitlam, who got two more from Ben McIntosh. Jr. A's singles went to Reid Reinholdt and Nathan Klein. Reinholdt also dished out six helpers.

Riley Camazzola stopped 34 shots in the Coquitlam cage.

New Westminster Jr. Salmonbellies and the Delta Islanders open the other semifinal series Saturday in Ladner.

Meanwhile, the Thunder pumped in seven third-period goals on way to a 13-6 victory last Thursday over the Saints at PoCo Rec Centre to wrap up their best-of-three quarter-final in two straight games.

The Thunder opened the series via a tight 5-4 triumph in the July 11 opening game in Langley.
