Coquitlam Minor Football's junior bantam division Vikings defeated the Cloverdale Bobcats on Sunday in a dominating 49-0 victory on the road.

The Vikings got on the board early, with Nico DePaoli scoring a touchdown in the first two minutes of the game. Coquitlam would continue to dominate all through the first half, entering the third quarter with a 39-0 lead with touchdowns from Xavion Fleary, Keon Fuoco, Brandon Dieno and Mo Hassan. In the second half big defensive plays from Dade Motz, Dieno and Hassan helped Coquitlam maintain the shutout.

TITAN CLASH

After losing in week one, the Coquitlam Wildcats rebounded on Sunday with a 28-0 win over the White Rock Titans. Four long rushing touchdowns by Jamal Mensah and one by Jarret Chong paved the way for the victory, while the defense, led by line backer Uriah Hesdalen, stifled the Titans' offense.

RAVENS STUMBLE

The Terry Fox Ravens had a difficult start to the season on Friday, after dropping a game against Blaine high school on Friday.

Ravens' co-head coach Tom Kudaba said inexperience was the main stumbling block for the club, which travelled to Washington state to take on some higher-calibre clubs in preparation for the B.C. high school regular season.

The club fell behind early, surrendering several touchdowns in the first two quarters to make it 38-8 at the half. But the team was able to gain some ground in the second half, when Trevor Casey scored two touchdowns to close the gap, finishing with a 44-21 loss.
