The Coquitlam Metro-Ford Aftershock brought home some hardware, winning the silver medal in the under-13 girls division at the North Shore Thanksgiving soccer tournament last weekend.
Despite losing 1-0 to the home club on Saturday, the team came back strong with a 5-0 win over Comox Valley and a 3-1 win over the West Coast Wave.
The championship game on Sunday was close for most of the first half, however Port Coquitlam SC managed to defeat the Coquitlam squad 1-0.
Diana Emelianova, Maia Faccone, Rosina Gallaccio, Olivia Gallina, Janelle Haywood, Neena Hull, Alexandra Nielsen, Tiana Pavan, Vanessa Porretti, Chanelle Prestia, Elyssa Ricci, Sierra Santorelli, Saira Sohi, Danica Stryjak and Linnea Wong all had strong games with the Coquitlam club.
