Coquitlam soccer grads sign on with schools

The Coquitlam Metro Ford Soccer Club is continuing its tradition of sending many of its graduating players on to post-secondary institutions.

The Coquitlam Metro Ford Soccer Club is continuing its tradition of sending many of its graduating players on to post-secondary institutions.

A total of 14 players with the BCSPL Sparta Boys team who were born in 1995 will be attending post-secondary institutions, with 12 accepting roster spots or red-shirt positions. Another three players will be heading to Europe for trials with professional teams.

All four of the graduating BCSPL girls will continue their education at post-secondary institutions, with two accepting roster spots.

Luigi Polisi, Mitchell Popadynet and Otis Sandhu will be playing for UBC, with Bryan Cadman, Giovanni Carida, Lucas Krivak and Alexander Lazazzera going on to UBC-Okanagan. Hyun Jun Lee and Sean Northcote will be going to Kwantlen College Surrey, Graham Kasper and Je Woung Youn to McGill, Alejandro Varela at Douglas College, Lauren Askew at University of Victoria and Alexa Bannister-Thompson will attend the University of Toronto.
