The Coquitlam Jr. Adanacs have a new head coach.
Pat Coyle will take over as bench boss for when the the B.C. Jr. 'A' Lacrosse League season gets underway this summer, following the club's disappointing defeat in the Minto Cup finals last year.
"We are extremely excited and privileged to have Pat come on as head coach," said Adanacs general manager Scott Wortley. "Pat played the game right and we feel he treats coaching in the same fashion. His quiet and demanding approach is exactly what we were looking for to help take the team to our ultimate goal."
Coyle, the current coach of the National Lacrosse League's Colorado Mammoth, played most of his junior career in Ontario with Brampton. He moved out west in the 1990s, when he joined the Sr. A's and captained the team to its 2001 Mann Cup victory.
Coyle also had success as a player in the NLL. He was part of five championships in the league, four with the Toronto Rock and one with the Mammoth in 2006 and was inducted into the hall of fame in 2014.
"Pat's vision and attention to detail will guide our Jr. 'A' team to continued success," said Wortley.
