Cyclecross racers will converge on Port Coquitlam this weekend to take part in the CastleCross event at Castle Park.
Registration opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday (Oct. 4) and is open to beginners of all ages all the way to intermediate and expert riders.
Course designerTobin Copley has put together a fast course with technical grass field riding and difficult elevation changes.
"We have managed to incorporate three separate run-ups into the course where the riders will have to get off their bikes, carry them up a hill and then remount," Copley said. "Castle Park has lots of terrain and we will be taking advantage of it."
There is a registration fee of $35 for adults and anyone born after 1997 may participate for free. Participants must present their racing licence and sign a waiver at registration. For more information go to escapevelocity.bc.ca/castlecross.
