Delta Islanders bounced back from a 12-7 loss Tuesday at Poirier Sports Complex to even their best-of-seven B.C. Junior 'A' lacrosse league playoff final series with the Coquitlam Jr. Adanacsat a game apiecevia a 10-8 triumph Thursday at Sungod Arena.
The Islanders bolted to a 5-0 first-period lead and held a 9-5 margin going into the third, where the Jr. A's out-scored the hosts 3-1 to make things close.
The Jr. A's outshot the Islanders 62-42, with Delta goalie Peter Dubenski outstanding while blocking 54 shots.
Robert Church and Cole Shafer led Coquitlam with two goals each, followed by singles from Ben McIntosh, Wesley Berg, Reid Reinholdt and Nathan Klein.
Game 3 in the series goes Monday at Poirier, 8 p.m.
