Dobbie delivers five goals in Adanacs' 12-4 triumph

Dane Dobbie fired in five goals and added two assists to carry the Coquitlam Adanacs to a 12-4 romp Saturday over the Langley Thunder in a Western Lacrosse Association contest at Poirier Sports Complex.

The win moved the A's to 5-5-0 and into a fourth-place tie with the New Westminster Salmonbellies, while the second-place Thunder dipped to 6-4-0.

The A's raced to period leads of 3-1 and 8-4 before out-scoring the visitors 4-0 in the third frame to make it a blowout.

Daryl Veltman contributed two goals and four assists for the A's, who got two more tallies from Kevin Olson.

Rookies Jaxson Lee and Travis Cornwall also struck net for Coquitlam, as did Jon Harnett.

Former Coquitlam Jr. Adanac Athan Iannucci led the punchless Thunder with two goals and one helper.

The A's visit the 4-3-1 Timbermen in Nanaimo on Saturday, with their next home action slated for July 7 against the first-place Victoria Shamrocks at Poirier, 7 p.m.
