The Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 lead against the flow of the play. Coquitlam outshot Surrey 15-12 in the period and 39-28 on the night. Pierce Dushenko made 23 saves for the Express, who pulled to 3-1 midway through the second before the Eagles restored their three-goal lead five minutes later.

Bo Pieper and Jace Hennig each had a goal and an assist for Coquitlam while Canon Pieper contributed a pair of helpers. The Eagles Braedan Russell was named first star for his two-goal, one-assist performance.

Coquitlam went 0-for-3 on the power play and no have failed to score in 13 opportunities over the last four games.

Express sit in third place in the Coastal Conference with 51 points in 48 games, six points back of Prince George and nine ahead of Surrey.

The Express are back in action this weekend when they travel to Prince George for a two-game series with the Spruce Kings.
