The roaring Langley Thunder were reduced to a whimper Wednesday night, when the B.C. Junior 'A' Lacrosse League club visited the Coquitlam Jr. Adanacs Tuesday night.
The A's wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard, building a a large lead before most fans at the Poirier Sports and Recreation Complex were able to get to their seats.
Steven Neufeld opened the scoring under one minute into the game and Coquitlam did not look back, racking up five more goals and taking a 6-0 lead into the first intermission.
It only took Adanac player Wesley Berg one period to score two goals and two assists, but the 20-year-old right-hander was not finished putting up the points.
He added a goal in the second period and two more assists in the third to finish the night with seven points.
While the Adanacs took a 9-2 lead into the final period, Langley began to show some signs of life in the third.
Brett Dobray was able to spark his team with a power play marker, while Brandon Bull scored a hat trick in the final minutes of the game.
However, it was not enough to rally the team and Langley eventually fell 13-8.
