Fox flies into hoop semis, Kodiaks slip

Bret Macdonald poured in game-high 25 points to rally the Terry Fox Ravens to a 74-54 triumph Thursday over their long-time Fraser Valley rivals, the Pitt Meadows Marauders, at the B.C. AAA senior boys high school basketball championships at Langley Events Centre.

Scott Hind added 22 points for the Ravens, who will now face Richmond's R.C. Palmer Griffins in one semifinal tonight, 8 p.m. The Griffins advanced by knocking off Port Moody's Heritage Woods Kodiaks 71-63 later Thursday.

Pitt Meadows actually led 49-46 heading into the fourth quarter, in which Fox caught fire and out-scored the Marauders 28-5. Macdonald was brilliant, canning 12 of 13 shots from the free-throw stripe.

Vancouver College Fighting Irish and Abbtosford's W.J. Mouat Hawks toil in tonight's other semifinal tilt, 6 p.m.
